Biggest News in Food Mood Girl History!

Since I was a little girl, I’ve always dreamed of writing a book. In fact, I became a published author in 4th grade after my poems were featured in an anthology. Even at a young age, I envisioned writing a book of my own one-day!

Fast-forward to February 2012; I self-published my first book, Junk Foods & Junk Moods. This first book was truly the catalyst to my career and has connected and shaped me in so many ways.

I went on to write several more books and a small independent press picked up my last book, Food Guilt No More. I even created a course where I teach people how to write and publish their own books. To date, I’ve helped over 500 people also birth books.

Then, last November, a book idea hit me like a ton of bricks. When I was deciding if I wanted to self-publish or go with my small press, I didn’t feel excited about either. I had an urge to go BIG. I immediately contacted my friend Amanda and basically cried on the phone to her for 30 minutes. I felt like I came so far in self-publishing, that I didn’t want to abandon my roots. I also felt like my small publisher did so much for me and I didn’t want to leave them either. But she very calmly said, “Uh Lindsey, you aren’t abandoning anything, this is your natural revolution as an author and totally makes sense.”

So I jumped in – and schooled myself on mainstream publishing. In January, I had my first book proposal ready to go. By April, I started pitching agents and by June, I landed my very first literary agent. (Oh, hey Eric!)

My agent assured me that it would take time before we hear anything because it’s slower in the summer and to just be patient. As impatient as I can be, I was prepared for this taking a LONG time because I’ve heard tons of horror stories upon my research. But I was ready to wait because I was committed!

Well, about 6 weeks later (with some e-mails and calls in-between), I officially got an offer from St. Martin’s Press (a division of Macmillan).

I am BEYOND thrilled to announce that my next book, Eat Your Feelings, will be launching in Fall 2017! This book is a cookbook meets lifestyle book, jam packed with recipes, colorful photos and all the Food Mood Girl goodness I can whip up!

This book is the biggest and most creative book I’ve ever worked on and I want to invite you to be a part of the process! I started this special Facebook group so that you can see the behind-the-scenes process, test recipes and join me on this creative journey.

Join the fun here!

And last but not least, THANK YOU! It’s because of you and your support that ALL of this has been possible!
